Guide |
| |
| Doug is a Maine native and grew up in the
Mid-coast area.
Teel, 34, is a Registered Master Maine Guide and is sole owner and proprietor
of Northridge Outfitters. Doug is also a Pro Staff member of
Knight and Hale and Pradco Outdoor Brands, Daiwa fishing products ,Yamaha G3 boats
and sponsored by Sufix fishing line.. He spent 12 seasons learning the
profession under Northridge's previous owner, Jack Pierce. This apprenticeship
steeped Doug in the history of the Maine woods and prepared him well for
his chosen trade. Since taking over the business in 1998, he has
expanded the service to include all types of hunting and fishing. He
attended Unity College, where he studied Conservation Law
Enforcement and Outdoor Recreation. |

|
| Doug
has worked with many outdoor product companies. One of them is Yamaha G3
Boats. This year he has a full sponsorship for a 1860 DLX CCJ Tunnel Hull
Jet Drive. This boat is provided by G3 Boats and Ken's Yamaha in Norway
Maine. The boat is designed for running rivers. The shallow draft
capabilities allow Doug to get on sections of rivers that only a few
others can do. This means that the fishing pressure is minimal. He also
has sponsorships with Daiwa rods and reels, Pradco Outdoor brands and Sufix fishing lines. |

| Bass fishing is a Northridge
specialty, and Maine waters offer plenty of fast action. Northridge
maintains 2 fully equipped Yamaha G3 jet drive boats to get you into those areas
where the biggest bass live. The Spring spawning season often produces
the largest catch of the year, but bass fishing remains very active
throughout the summer and fall. |

Another Northridge specialty is
black bear hunting, which is done over active baits or hound hunting Black
bears (ghost of the woods) are numerous in Maine and provide a unique thrill for the serious
hunter. Bears are hunted in the fall. A key to a successful hunt is
proper preparation; Northridge prepares and maintains active sites throughout
the bear season. With over a 50% harvest rate and an 95% opportunity
rate makes Northridge one of the top Outfitters in the state. |

|
| Mid-coast Maine is a superb habitat
for waterfowl of all kinds. In addition to a large population of Canada
geese, we hunt several species of ducks including mallards, wood ducks, black
ducks,
blue and green-wing teal, hooded mergansers, buffleheads and goldeneyes.
If upland game is your interest, we hunt ruffed grouse and woodcock.
A combination hunt for duck and upland game is always a great adventure. |
